The smoke stops here

Since I live right against the Front Range of the Rockies I've seen the smoke trapped here from wildfires in North America. Right now it's from fires in Washington, Oregon, and Canada. I can barely see the mountains from just a few miles away. Not very scenic during our heavy tourist season.

We've had the same here. I work about 9 miles from the center of Albuquerque. I haven't been able to see the Sandia mountains on the east side of town the last couple of days. Yesterday by the afternoon I couldn't even see Albuquerque!
