The starter on 69 Runner is not fitting

The OEM starter on my 69 440 Runner went kaput recently. A friend recommended to put in one from a 2000 Dodge 1500 360 pickup. Fits beautifully, sounds great and its lighter. Only trouble is when I put the header back on its interfering with the starter and won't go on.

Has anyone got any ideas?

Depending on the brand of header, some can't use what I am guessing is a mini starter. You'd have to talk to manufacturer.

I read some of the post on this subject and i think some of them had to remove a piece off of the starter that would hit the headers as you stated.
