The engine shop called late last week that the Indy aluminum Hemi block had arrived after 6 weeks of prep work. The next day Jamie calls to say I am up on the list of those wanting an A855 5 speed Trans. After 6 years of waiting I would buy one even if I only had a VW! That will go perfect behind the 500 cu in Hemi. Now if Edelbrock will make the heads and stop moving the date out I could get it driving this summer.

Wow. Great! Hopefully my number comes up soon too for the 855. Keep us posted once you get it!

Sounds like you're going to be doing wheelies this summer! Congrats and enjoy the process!

The Edelbrock heads came into the engine shop so I drove 3 hours to get pics. Here is the indy block and the heads. After seeing the heads we can now order the Eagle rotating assembly and diamond pistons. Jamie says the A 855 is about two weeks out. It will be here before the engine. Now if I can get Classic Industries to come though with their new single four bbl intake.

You probably already know this, but I'm going to say it anyway.

Since the new Edelbrock heads have a tipped exhaust valve angle compared to stock in order to accommodate the bigger intake valve, it might be a good idea to send Diamond a cast of your combustion chamber so they can match that non-standard angle on the piston dome. Especially if you're running some decent compression.

Its buried in their own installation instructions sheet that you need custom pistons or custom machining.

Cool build, can't wait to see how it turns out!
