Any body have a thermoquad air door adjusting tool they would be willing to part with, or know of anyone making them? I need one pretty bad.

I made one for my buddy Dave who owns a carb shop in Youngstown Oh. He goes by Dana on "A" bodies only, ask him how it works. I might be coaksed into making a couple, what is it worth to ya ? Woodruff carb specialties

If you just tighten the outer lock screw a little you can set the air door to specs and it will stay until you finish tightening the lock screw. I did many this way, even in the dealerships I worked in way back when. Those special tools seemed to grow legs-if you know what I mean.
Mike

Years ago there was a guy on Moparts that said he was making them but after telling him that I wanted one, it never happened. What Mike said in his last post will work but the tool is easier.....been doing it his way for years.

Can’t remember his name but I bought two

Yes, Cornpicker's tool is just another one of his top notch tools from a top notch machinist. If Frank is offering, take him up on it! You won't be sorry.

Depends on your skill and tool level as well as your temper not to explode doing such things.

Try it! Let me know how it goes.

Have fabed a few tools. And yes this is one that should be done. Just have always done it like everyone without one.

Good grief. Adjusted TQ's a hundred times, never even thought about needing a special tool.

Me either, I have a big screw driver that fits the outer ring and a small one that I can squeeze in to hold the adjustment screw end while I loosen the ring, then adjust and retighten.

Chrysler build these carbs for years and basically failed to market the tool to the public to adjust the secondary door. Here in Denver the air pressure is lower, adjusting the secondaries from summer to winter or when traveling at lower elevations. We just need one in the trunk when traveling

If you don't open the secondary's it not a problem.

Yup....or put your foot down very slowly.
