The owner of the satellite invited that trouble.

Because he left it running huh, strange world we live in.

That guy probably wouldn't have broke into a car to steal it; but if you make something that easy of a target even the lazy crooks get a break. Hope they find it and lock up the crook. Oh, and don't leave your car running and walk away.

Someone once said to me something that has been a big part of my life ever since it was said... "locks are only there to keep the honest people honest". So true. If a true criminal really wants something, he's going to take it one way or another... but if you make it easy for a passerby to get a hold of, they might just walk away with whats yours.

I feel bad for the guy but that was a pretty stupid thing to do. Maybe if he owned a Yugo...

In some states it is illegal to leave your car running while you do stuff like "running in the store". I have heard of cops ticketing people for doing this. When I lived in Texas, this type of theft is not even considered theft... It's "unauthorized use of a motor vehicle".

Leaving the keys in your car is just stupid let alone running. Most insurance plan have clauses that don't cover theft if the key was in the car....so he's screwed on multiple levels...but honestly I don't feel bad for him. I don't think stupid people should have sympathy.

He wasn't thinking. If it was -20 outside I can maybe see why he would leave it running. Looks like a nice day out, and the owner was just lazy. Sooner or later falling as easy prey. Hopefully he gets his car back in one piece and learns the lesson.
