I need you guys' opinion> Do you think M/T ET Street Radials will work for me and my combo?

I have a mild 440 in a 3600 pound '67 Satellite. Best ET is 7.86 in the 1/8. It regular runs 7.90s so it's probably a solid mid-12 second car. Best 60 foot is 1.68 and usually goes 1.68 to 1.72.

Suspension is #3400 Super Stock springs, long Monroe truck shocks in back. 90/10 Calverts with original 318 torsion bars in front.

Currently using Hoosier bias-ply Quicktime Pro D.O.T. slicks in the 27" X 9' size. I've got 92 runs on them so far but I picked up something and now I have a flat. If it's not feasible to fix it, I thought maybe it might be time to try a D.O.T. drag radial but I don't want my 60 foot times to suffer.

I TNT at Barona a few times a year for fun. Will I be able to hook as good with M/T ET Street Radials? Would I need to get better rear shocks to make them work? Thanks!

We run my sons 9.80 car on ET drag radial with Caltracks. 1.40 60 fts with a 3.55 gear running a trans brake. Hooks great.

I have not run them myself but I see alot of guys running them and hooking good. I think they should work fine for you. Ron

They will hook fine, only problem with ET's is that they don't have much tread to start with, would be half the depth of a normal radial.

I ran some & had decent luck with them, I had 315/60/15's on my last 68 RR
they really don't last long if your going to drive on them around the street & to the track allot...

High Heat cycles are allegedly a big deal too, so over heating
{driving them aggressively for long extended distances}
& doing nasty long burnouts aren't good....

I also haven't had a set since 2007 thou,
I'm not sure about the newer ones & their compounds or sidewall structures,
"they could be way better now", tire technology has come leaps & bounds in the past 10 year

IMO you'll possibly need a stiff rear shock setting usually too, to get them to hook correctly...

That was my experiences anyway
