I have decided to sell my 1971 Dodge Charger RT that I bought a short time ago because I recently purchased another project car that I prefer to build instead. What I have is a triple green 71 Charger RT 440 4 BBL, Automatic with no motor and transmission. This is a solid project car that would be easy to restore and look great when finished. The interior was partially changed to black sometime ago. It has some of the typical rust in the trunk, lower quarters, rear trunk lid, small spot in driver rear floor, a leaky back window and the driver side floor foot area was cut out and patched. There is a 72 fender on the passenger side with a 71 side marker light installed into it. Currently there are only 2 - GF3 light green metallic 440 4bbl Automatic Chargers in the 71 Charger RT Registry out of 454 cars registered. This possibly could be one of a few triple green 71 Charger RT's that still exist today. I have a clear title, two fender tags and no build sheet. current bid $5000

Q:

Afternoon, interested in the charger you have listed. Has any bondo or filler been used on it? Is the frame straight and how much of the car is original, I read in the listing a few parts had been changed? Does the car roll, steer and brake? Also, do you have any additional photos you can provide? Sorry for all the questions, Thanks for your time. Jan-18-17

A: Hobbyguy, I went around every inch of the whole car this afternoon with 1/16" business card magnet and the only bondo I found was down at the bottom of the rear quarter behind and in front of each wheel well, little on the center lip of the well and the front top corner edge of the passenger fender. The rest of the car is all metal.

It's a very solid car but I would say it still needs some patch work and lower quarters. The paint looks dull and blotchy but you can see original green above the striping. All the trim pieces are on the car and in good shape. The window glass is in great shape with a few scratch on the drive side. All the windows roll up and down really nice. The passenger rear armset is not attached. The console has a crack on the top side near the shifter. It has 4 holes drilled on the top for a cassette recorder option but it didn't come on this car. There are green seat belts for the rear some of the covers are cracked and there is none for the front except for black shoulder straps. I might have a few loose ones to go with the car but I am not sure.

The car rolls and steers but has no brakes. The frame rails are solid and it is an undercoated car with some surface rust in the back. It doesn't look to have been in a major accident and I think the frame rails are straight. It has a 8 3/4 rear. The passenger fender is a 72 because they never covered up the old mounting holes when they installed the 71 side marker light. The hood had fender turn signals mount on top of it and I took them off but the holes are still there.

The car looks like it hasn't been on the road for a while. Its missing the engine wire harness and batterytray. The brake line was cut and the gas tank is off the car and in the trunk. I have a lot of photos of this car and would love to share them with everybody. Please send me your email address and I'll send them to you. You can also call me if you want to talk more about the car. Thanks, Steve 301-674-2426

Too many $$$ to invest. It would be pretty, though.
