This is a great story about a Baldwin Motion Chevelle.

I know it's a Chevy but the backstory is great. Baldwin promised 11 seconds or your money back. This extremely wealthy kid from Mexico bought a '69 Baldwin Motion Camaro and this Chevelle to tow it with!

One of my older gear head buddies just told me about this very story in our bar, literally last week! I was definitely skeptical, but now I see it’s very true. What a fun option to have! Man, getting the rarest option muscle car out there. Detroit definitely came through with horsepower back then!

I lived a few miles from Baldwin Motion. Some pretty smart guys there.

Growing up in Brooklyn, and hitting the weekend "street scene" in Queens, we used to jaunt out to Sunrise highway to check out the chevy machinery at Motion. They offered Phase I, Phase II, and Phase III upgrades. The bigger the phase, the bigger your wallet, the faster you go. And they had these cool side stripes that came to a point in front, which pre-dated the Starsky-hutch Torino. It was a GREAT time to be living the moment back then.

I still have the old magazines that advertised the 454 Vega kit, promising a 9 second car.
