I always thought that would happen eventually but im suprised I havent heard of that happening sooner. Thats why I never ever place my car in gear when I shut it off. I mean, why dont we all just use our e-brake, thats what its used for!

also its flipping embarassing when you forget you left it in gear or the dumbass at the car wash places it in gear for me so when i start her up, she lunges forward like i was just rear ended infront of all the single mothers at the local car wash.

Yup. But these things have a (neutral) safety switch on them. Gotta shove it all the way to the floor to disengage it as well. So that feature was bypassed on this guy's car.

There are so many places I could go with this:grin:;all of them wrong in so many ways:tongueflap:...I'll behave myself:no:...I promise...no,really...

OK,I do feel sorry for the owner...sort of...it's not like I haven't done dumb ****.

Yeah, I was going to say the same thing Runner. My daily driver is an 08 Volkswagen (no comments :tongueflap:) and the car won't start without the clutch being fully depressed. I'm kind of questioning the BS on that thread, as the running idle on most cars these days is set to low to keep an engaged standard in motion. It'd lug out and stall, not drive off on it's own.
