Hi, below is a photo of a stock B-Body stop/brake light switch in the bracket. My car is complete and together, driving. The bracket is bent, and the switch no longer lines up correctly so the brake lights stay on all the time. Anyone know how to get way up under the dash to fix it? There is no room for sockets, wrenches on my 68 satellite conv. Has anyone
1) used a different bracket or 2) fabricated a different metal bracket for the switch shown below? Or, how the heck do you get up in there to remove or work on it??

a pain in the ***, but will help pulling the front seat out. i had to do some work on my brake switch recently, but i'm a bit of a contortionist.

I took the top half of the bucket seat out, stretched out for l a long while with the top of my head up against the firewall. I could not get any sockets or tools in there to remove the threaded screw (5/16?) that holds the bracket in place. Do I have to drop the column?

can you get a hold of the threaded end with pliers and a rag, and try backing it out?

I can barely get at it that way with long needle nose, but if I do back out the screw, I'm pretty sure I'll never be able to put it back.
