Hi all, I'm obviously doing something wrong here... I have a 440 with the edelbrock RPM intake #7193, with a street demon carb on top...At this time I have the factory throttle cable from the orig 318 that was in the car
(68)..I got the tall bracket from mancini's (#AR1055) and an extension piece for the demon but can't seem to make it work right...when I can get the cable in a good position the holes on the two bracket pieces don't line up, when the bracket goes together the cable doesn't want to fit right.....do I just need a longer cable for this combo or is the bracket setup wrong? If any of you are using this could you post some pics? Thanks!!
When the bracket goes together it holds the cable much too high, you can see the pic where the cable is angled down preventing WOT but the bracket won't mount lower because that arm with the 2 holes hits the intake...or maybe I need to chuck the carb extension and use a longer cable...

Why don't you trim off the lower portion of the upper half of throttle cable bracket so you have clearance between it and the manifold. Then move it around and place it where it works well. Vice grip the two halves together and drill new holes. Bolt the two half's together.

That's my thought too. There's no need for the throttle cable bracket to be that tall OR to be "tilted up" like that. Position it so you can hit WOT & see if the cable will let the carb close... if not, longer cable... exact cable doesn't matter unless it's SO long that you have to loop it around in the engine bay or something causing it to bind.

Thanks everyone, I had some ideas for modifying it too...just thought MAYBE it wouldn't have to be, but...aftermarket:BangHead:

Bingo- modified, exact Mancini piece.
Have no fear, cut that silly extension bracket thingy off, drill new holes/ slots, whatever.....
Make it work, if not a longer cable will do ya
