Hi everyone,
Need some help and advise. I have been restoring my 72 Plymouth Satellite Sebring with a 318 auto and one of my (Many) projects is to breath some life back into the 318. I have replaced the intake and carburetor with an Edelbrock however the transmission kickdown lever and throttle cable doesn't line up. I have so far added the Edelbrock Mopar linkage kit, replaced the throttle cable to a 4BBL cable (A little bit longer) Fabbed the original bracket to fit on the intake manifold, moved the carburetor kickdown lever to the opposite side of the bracket so it would line up better with the carburetor linkage. Its still uglier than sin. There has to be a better way to do this. Suggestions?

I've bent the bracket that bolts to the intake towards the valve cover till all lines up. The cable will run straight along with the kick down. Never had one bind. A cresent wrench tightened to the thickness of the bracket works well.May not be the best way but it works. You only need to move it about 1/2 ''

Thanks for the photos. Looks like your throttle cable bracket that bolts to the manifold is a little different than mine as the pivot point is a little more forward than mine. Make me think if there are two versions of this bracket and kickdown linkage, one for 2BBL and another for a 4BBL.

BTW very nice work on your 71 Bee!!! I hope to be at that level soon.

There are 2 and 4 barrel brackets but the 4 version is hard to find and can be pricey.

You should not need a longer throttle cable.

Bend the bracket and add an extension to the kickdown.
Several ways to do this. My fave is welding a length of all thread.

Finally found the correct brackets on eBay. Yes they where pricey but it was a simple plug and play. A perfect fit.

The simple fix was the linkages from a 340/360 for both carb and trans. Remember that the 2 bbl throttle plate was further back on a 2 bbl manifold. This makes the throttle and trans linkages too short and the throttle cable mount too low on the intake.
