Recently purchased a 70 RR (383; Auto; A/C/; PS; PB);
Been doing a little work on it...anyway had to remove the A/C compressor and noticed one end of the throttle return springs were attached to the A/C compressor (there are a couple little holes on the back side of the compressor the spring hooks were hooked into). Wondering if that is "correct"? Maybe someone out there with a 70 B body 383 with factory A/C could post a couple photos of how your looks. Any diagrams I have seen only show the springs connected to a bracket mounted on the intake.

Thanks

Mine is not a factory A/C car... but as far as I know and from the cars I've seen, the throttle return spring is supposed to go to a bracket on the driver's front intake manifold bolt. You "could" attach it anywhere convenient, so I'm guessing someone just lost that bracket and hooked it up to the A/C compressor.

Wait a minute... just found this pic. It's hard to see & this might be an aftermarket A/C unit, but it looks like it is attached to the A/C compressor. I guess it is "possible" if you had a dual snorkle air cleaner that the throttle return spring bracket "might" hit the driver's side air cleaner snorkle making it necessary to attach the spring to the A/C compressor.... Anyone else?
