Greetings. I am restoring a true J code 68 Super Bee. The ralley dash that came out of it looks to be original but does not have a tic toc tac. I am told by someone who claims to know that all hemi cars came standard with the tac. I have a copy of "Chrysler Muscle Car Parts Interchange 1968-1974", but it does not cover clocks/tachometers. Any thoughts? Thanks.

Sorry, I'm not sure...
But I do know one thing....

My 70 superbee did NOT have a tach, (383 at the time)
I'll BET that not every Hemi did not have a tach....

I do know that in the MOPAR world..."Nothing is a given"

Galen was and is NOT always correct...

My 70 Bee came with neither a clock or a tac. It just had a blank black plate to fill the space beside the 150mph speedo.

It was an option and I'm sure most had it but I'm pretty sure it wasn't standard .. but I am not the definitive source of information

I can tell you that my 68 hemi super bee came with a blank in that spot originally. It was replaced with an NOS tach when it was restored in 1981.
I am with Tallhair it was an option.
Matt

Thanks. I am betting the dash that we took out is the original and had no tach, just clock. I have the fender tag and the only options were 26 inch radiator and AM radio - no build sheet. I am in contact with the guy who owned it from 1970 to 1987 and converted it to a drag car and raced in the Memphis area, but he doesn't remember. Wheel covers - Paul Herd says in his Parts Interchange manual that full wheel covers, part 2881753 or 28581757 came on 68-69 hemis. And boy, they just don't look right! Which poverty hub caps would be correct?

Sounds like a great car - you will need to post some pictures.

Road runners didn't even have a rallye dash in 68-69 so there's a bunch of hemi cars that didn't have a tic-toc-tach.

Just picked up a mopar action at the store tonight. Is has a story on a rotisserie restored 68 hemi charger. 4 speed car. It has no tachometer. So there ya go.

Poverty caps like these. One year only dodge cap.
Matt

The data book shows the Rallye Dash was standard as well as the clock. The tach was optional with any engine. There is no indication the tach was standard with Hemis.

If you have the fender tag, look for a 7 under the T.

By 70, the clock was dropped as a standard item. Both the clock and tach were optional.
