Have 2 68's with factory distributors and coils. Tach in the
Hemi always bounced around above 2500 rpm, the tach in the wedge car reads about 30% fast all the time. Any thoughts?
If you have switched from points to electronic ignition, the tachs will need to be rebuilt to read accurate. If you are still running points then maybe just a recalibration?
Like I said factory distributors and coils. What is done when they are recalibrated or rebuilt that eliminates this problem? How much does it cost, are these rebuilders prompt or does it take 6 mos?(Never did see an accurate one after they were even a couple years old - "back in the day".) Thanks
Mine was done in a day but then i didnt ship mine anywhere I just drove over. Under $50 as I recall... but as I said this was 4-5 years ago. I guess it could also factor just what needs to be done. http://www.speedometersolutions.com/
