Quick question will 295/50/15 on a 15x8 rallye wheel with 4.5 back spacing fit on a 1972 RR 8.75 rear end ???

I don't think so. I know they're too big for a '70 Roadrunner & I "think" the '72 has a slightly smaller wheel well.

Now, you can always move the leaf springs into the frame rails, install mini-tubs & shorten the rear end.

Not sure about specific figment but An 11.5 inch wide tires is pushing the limit for an 8 inch wide rim in general

I'm not sure of course but, I'm running N-50 x15 on 8.5" rims with a 3 1/2 " backspace on my 73 which I believe is the same size (rear) wheel well as the 71, 72 and 74 cars. The N-50 is approx. 11 3/4" wide. I measured the inside to outside of the factory wheel tub to be approx. 14". I have a narrower rear so my clearance is different but I will post a picture of a 29" x 12.50 tire on an 8.5 " rim on a friends 73 Satty. You can see they make it but it's tight. I'll throw in a rear picture of mine as well just for the heck of it. I have about an inch of clearance on the outside and more inside. I am actually closer to the spring than the inner well. Keep in mind that 295/50's are lower profile than my 26" N-50's as well. The offset and wheel width will decide how centered the tire will be. You could try a tool like Percy's wheel fitment tool to help you out with what fits.

Got 295/50 15s on an 8 inch wheel on mine. Spring relocation kit moved them in 2 or 3 inches.

I've also had 29x15.5 on the back as well. Those required a little extra pressure in the air shocks to keep from rubbing.

Don't remember what back spacing is on either wheel combo.

If everything is in the stock location they will not fit. I ran 275-60-15's on the rear of mine with a 15x8, 4.5 backspace and had about 1/2" clearance inner and outer side.

Yes could you send some pics. How much room do you have between the tire and leak spring ??

Sorry. I just saw your reply. I’ll try to get pictures and the space for you tonight or tomorrow. My car came with air shocks but it is fine without any air. I don’t fill them. Mike

Sorry. I can’t tell if it worked. There is an inch between the wheel well and also an inch between the leaf spring. I gave one of the way the car sits so you can see there is no air in the shocks also

Do you know what the backspacing is ?

I really don’t remember. I bought the wheels from summit. I’ll see if I can find anything on them. They were just a stock size they have

Hi Jay. I’m fairly certain they have a 4 1/2” backspace.
