thanks guys, will get a video for you all on the weekend, just have to modify the exhaust it was sitting to low to the ground, when i took her around the block it was striahgt out the headers and cops would of been there in no time if i kept going.
i noticed when pushing the car back into the carport there was a squeaking/binding sort of noise from the rearend, my mate reckons it is probably the driveshaft and i have tightened it too much or something, any ideas on how to fix it? both ends of the shaft had new uni joints put in.
Benno, that's great news! I guess you got the carbs working OK?
You shouldn't have any squeaking from new greased U joints. If they do squeak the frequency is pretty high compared to the tire rotation. Could your brakes be dragging a bit?
i know the brakes are'nt maybe the park brake but i didnt have the park brake fully tightened only enough to nip it up. it sort of sounded a bit like a creaking noise but not constant, it only creaked in probably half a wheel rotation then went away then came back then went away then came back if you know what i mean. my mate said that the caps on the uni joint a most likely to far in and i should tap the driveshaft each way to push the caps all the way to the snap rings, i guess i will take a look at both brakes and shaft, was just hoping someone might recognise the sound, everything in the car is brand new so might just need soem wearing in, just did not want to break anything.
I know what you mean about the U joint caps, but full of grease they shouldn't creak. Also there shouldn't be any movement of the shaft once the straps are tight and caps seated.
Wow!!! Benno , that Charger looks awesome. Love the color. You don't see that every day for sure. Make sure you take the little guy for a ride so you get him hooked!!
