Read somewhere that they have a left and right bias. Is that true?
I have removed and replaced and i found an L & R on the end. I can only use common since in that if one was torquing one way for so many years and you put it in the other side, that would cause so much stress in the opposite direction and weaken and possible break it. Good luck.I've been looking for a picture... but I'm pretty sure I have that correct with odd number is left(driver) and even is right side. Also a L and R on them.
Sorry, I'm confused, which is the part number and which is the date code? I am close to re-installing mine as well. Here you go. Part number end and date code end...sorry for the upside down....

Perfect, thanks!780/781 above are the part numbers. Even numbers on the right side, odd on the left. Date codes (179) above are the 17th week of 1969.
Hope this helps?

"Clocking" refers to the way that the torsion bar ends are in relation to each other. Is clocking done on install or height adjustment or both?
Thanks for the info. Appreciate it."Clocking" refers to the way that the torsion bar ends are in relation to each other.
Call it a "twist" if you will. It is nothing the installer does, it is how the bar is made.
