Fake tranny, fake stalling & fake engine sound = fail.

"Starting in 2026, Toyota will offer a simulated manual gearbox in its EVs. Even better, it'll be complete with synthetic engine sounds and the ability to stall. Pretty cool."

No, not cool!

Strange - I heard a few months ago that Toyota was more or less abandoning the EV program to concentrate on hybrids. It must not have been true.

japan is going to look at hybrids and hydrogen.
Turns out Toyota still wants to sell cars in the USA. Where everything but EV is now illegal by the year 2032, or sooner.

So for cars sold in the USA, they will also have to include those alcohol sensors and the rest of the package that allows the car to pull itself over.
I wonder how many times you can "stall" an imaginary engine before the AI decides you are under the influence and pulls itself over?

Millennials will eat this up, and impress
their kids with the fact that dad has
the ability to "row some gears".
It will be amazing if Toyota makes
this a option that you have to pay for.
Money for nuthin'

They could use a smaller motor and fewer batteries if.....

...if they used a real manual transmission!

Like having a woman who fakes her orgasms! Not thrilling, very uneventful!
