I have a 70 Purple 340 Swinger restored 10 yrs. ago maybe 4k on it since done. I have a chance to trade it for a rust free original drive train 67 GTX. It would need a paint job but it still has the original interior in great shape. What is every ones thoughts on this? It has the original drive train in it allso and it's in good shape.

It's really up to you. Do you want a 67 GTX? Personally, given a choice between those 2 vehicles I would prefer the GTX.

I would lean toward the GTX based on this limited info...pics of either or both cars?

Myself, I always loved the 67 plymouth B bodies. I guess it depends on if it really needs more than just a paint job.

If it were a more desireable 68+ GTX I would say this deal would be a no brainer, but since it's a 67 the values are pretty much equal and the deal would just come down to which car you like better. I'm like most folks on here and would go with the GTX. :)

I would have to look at how much money would you have to put into the Swinger compared to how much you have to put into the GTX. Both have good eye appeal with the GTX having a little more than the swinger. I personally like the X better but i'm not the one doing the deal. You have seen other member's rides here. I would say if you can do the deal without exchanging cash ( unless the other person wants to give you some to boot ) it sounds like a good deal.

I would like Both,

Personally i would wouldnt do it,as i'm not a big fan or the 66-67 b body.I'd take the Swinger any day if i had a choice. But if its solid it could be ok for you if your looking for a change.

The Swinger just needs cleaned up. I have a 70 Air Grabber RoadRunner that we show. The GTX has power steering and power brakes is the main reason I was looking at it. It will have to have new pot medal on the back plus a paint job and it would be a nice car. The other draw back is I know the condition of my Swinger and I just have the guys word on the shape of the drive train in the GTX. I had a 66 Sport Satelite years ago and I really liked that car. I'm just going to have to decide.

we need photos

:iamwithstupid: with out photos of both cars & knowing the condition of both, it's really hard to give good/useful advice, for me it would be a hard decision, I like both body styles... What's the intended usage ??, Cruiser, driver, strip car what ??, I tend to favor B-Bodies & really like the 67 GTX's, I also prefer Big Blocks to SB's, but unless it's a street/strip or all out drag car, then I would lean toward the lighter A-Body of the 70 Swinger, would be great choice too... Also what do you consider "RUST FREE" or the guy think is "RUST FREE", your interpretation of "RUST FREE" may differ vastly from his too... IMHFO if the car is complete the 67 GTX is probably worth more than the 70 Swinger 340, if they were near equal in condition... as you can see opinions will vary vastly... I would highly suggest you 1st look at it very carefully & drive it, before you make a decision to trade...

GTX all the way, c'mon I'mm surprised you even asked.

i have no idea why you just wasted your time posting this, you should have made the trade...lol....GTX BABY!!!!!!!!

In todays market a 67 GTX and a 70 Swinger 340 in like condition and drivetrain are worth about the same money.

You did not indicate if your Swinger has original drivetrain, what trans, or what trans the GTX has. Too many varibles, however if they are both same trans and the GTX needs paint and trim work along with the 46 year old original interior that you KNOW is going to split at the seams when you sit on it a couple of times, then I would want money to trade for the GTX. The numbers engine is about 10% of the value of the car and you can't paint one for that money.
