Can someone tell me if a SB 904 from a 67 Coronet fit in my 73 Satellite? Thanks.

As long as it's a 904 for 904 swap; yes.

Thanks Jim, I didn't think they made them any different, but ive been surprised before, the only difference is the tail shaft is shorter by 3 or 4 inches on the 904,, i think..

A 904 is smaller than a 727 over all...smaller bell, shorter tail shaft and smaller case.

Smaller over all but still will work? im in the process of buying one and just want to be sure... Mine is a SB engine so was the one in Coronet (273) mines a 318 should still work, right? and thanks..

What is being referred to as smaller here is the difference between 904 and 727. If you now have a 904, the swap is a simple R&R. Just make sure to properly adjust the kickdown linkage.

One other thing to note with it being a 67 transmission your neutral safety switch and back up lights will not work on the 73. Not a problem if you don't mind the lights, but you will have to ground the safety terminal on the starter relay for the car to start.

He should be able to connect the neutral start switch on the earlier model, back up lights will be another issue all together.

Thanks guys, Friday i got the tranny, Now im thinking a shift kit and a rebuild.. How bad is this to do? Maybe its not for beginners? Never rebuilt one, never put a shift kit in one... Any suggestions im listening for sure. The only thing i have yet to check is whats in my car, if its the 727 i know the length of the drive shaft is different, but is the front yoke the same with the splines?

T2R9, Thats a nice looking Charger there!

bmp.. How about just the shift kit part?? Hard, easy? I was told its better on the tranny to have one, Can it be done by one who is mechanical but needs plenty of info before doing such... Special tools needed? Anyone have one? What exactly is different with it then whats in it now?
