I'm finally going to install a trans brake in my '65. After talking to several racers it seems like the Biondo Terminator is the way to go due to its adjustability. However it is quite large. Has anyone mounted one in the SCS command center? or is there a smaller trans brake button out there that is just as adjustable as the Terminator?

thank you in advance.

For a high amperage momentary type switch... there are a few good choices from Biondo HSA-0 $69.99 the long one has the same switch as the "Double O" {with the red button} but with a long adjustable attachment & chrome concave button {w/0.03 tenths built in delay, long micro switch, I never noticed that before}.... & it's $100 cheaper than the Term-sm $169.99 Terminator... I like the TBB-DO $45.99 "Double O" too..

maybe also try Mad Enterprises www.MadElectrical.com/ they use to have some good momentary switches/buttons a bunch of other electrical/electronics, automotive wiring, relays, connectors, tech articles & other stuff too...

Ever drove a car that had a trans brake? I kinda like em myself but my plan is to go with a 4 speed....

I've played around on the street with one, helping a friend get it working right, but I've never raced with one. They just aren't for me. Hell, I'll never go fast enough to need one. lol MoPars don't need um to run fast, because they make plenty of bottom end grunt. chebbies are the ones that need help by turnin um loose outta a slingshot. lol

Ya don't need to be super fast in order to benefit from a TB. They allow you to sit there stalled up without having to be holding the brake and they release faster than your brakes or your leg can. Also, your stall is still controlled by the converter.....or by you if you leave below your max stall.

just make sure you have a launch limiter chip. you will need a 3 step if your running a non digital msd box such as a 7al-2. one for burnout and one for launch and 1 for high end rev limit.

Thank you superstockracer. I run an MSD digital 6+ with two steps. One step to control the trans brake and the other for high end rev control. I watch the tach during burn outs -- not to exceed 5K.

i run a trans brake and when you release the button it's like popping a clutch. and you control your launch rpm with a 2 step.
