Is there a differance between a 4spd and a auto cross member? I was told to use the auto with the 4spd rubber. I did that with mock up and every thing hooked up fine.Is it ok or are they going for the factory look wanting a 4spd crossmember?

Right as rain. Auto and stick cross members are one in the same, its the mount (rubber, poly) that is auto or stick specific.

I have 3 18 spline manuals 2 1970 1 1968 the holes on the 1968 is close to 3" further backwards cant be same crossmember to both, bought 1 crossmember to the 1968 when it arriwed to Sweden it was to E-body 71-74 :rolling:but in great condition and I payed only $14.

What I remember from doing the 4 spd conversion on my 68 RR 20+ years ago the crossmembers are NOT the same. The 4 spd one puts the mount in the center and the auto one hangs the mount over the rear edge. It's possible the auto crossmember is just a 4 spd unit with the auto trans mount cradle welded on the side. The rubber isolator is the same.

Sorry, I did not clarify----62-65 crossmembers are the same for auto and stick, the mount is diffent between the two. Also they are smaller in length from outside bolt hole to outside bolt hole. Sorry for the confusion.
