Looking to get input on trans ideas for my 69 RR its a factory auto car but going to a manual with a 512" Stroker. I have seen the TKO's but curious what the other options are, the extra OD gear seems nice so but not sure if I should get a rebuilt tranny or go with a tremec. Just looking for options. Car will be a street car. Thanks

passon has a 5 speed manual that has supposedly been in the works for ever
could always through a gear vendors OD on the back as well, pricey though

I love the GV overdrive on my Cope 727!!!!

i was thinking about doing a Tremec 5 speed last year, but they dont shift well out of the box, and need a synco upgrade right out of the gate, but if your into a factory look, the shifter position will cost more to make look right with add monies spent for shifter mods.

the Passon 5 speed is basically a Unicorn at this point.

so ill prolly get the Passon 4 speed overdrive Hemi gear set with slick shift syncros.

Here you go, the 727 w/GV. If you have an H-pipe, it needs to be moved further forward

Don't get an "early TKO. 2-3 shift issues at high RPM. Depends on how many YEARS you want to wait for a Passon-5. My pal has one in his 'Cuda and it works good. Think he ordered it in 2010. Also, the Passon is to be broken in at 100 miles per 100 horsepower. That's 700 miles in the 'Cuda. And not highway. Good luck with that. i would look at GV if doing it again.

Hey thanks, that is an awesome setup!

I like the cutouts too, had mine open quite a few times last night... LOL!

Thanks for all the input, I'm OK with doing a little cutting on it. Have looked at the GV, looks like a nice unit. I have some time as the car is still receiving some metalwork. I have an older 64-65 4 speed that came out of another 68 RR but I dont think she would hold up to the 512" Also will that bellhousing from the 64-65 fit on a newer 69 trans?
