Can someone show me where the dip stick is for the Transmission?
I have a 1969 RR 383 Magnum 4 speed can't find one...is there one?

if its a standard 4 spd. there won't be a dip stick. it will be a plug in the side of the tranny to remove and check

Thank you for the help..few more question

Once I pull the side plug is that where the level should be, at the level of the plug. If I wanted to drain it…replace the fluid what should I use and how do I do that?

Yes it's a 4 speed

Yes, the fluid level is at the bottom of the fill plug or just a little below. Use 85-90W gear oil (like in the rear end). Drain by removing the plug on the bottom and refill through the side using the gear oil pump found at the store where you got your oil. The drain plug has a magnet on it and will look like a porcupine when you take it out. The fine metal powdery like shavings are pretty normal but big chunks should lead to further investigation.

Meep-Meep Thanks !!

Thank you Very!! much for the help. Hope to have this completed by next week. One more question....in referance to changing out the rear end oil, can you ren me thropugh the process?

Thanksfrank for Delaware

Sure. There is no drain plug so you will have to suck out the fluid through the fill hole. I have a second gear oil pump that I only use for old fluid. Same fill level check procedure - just below the bottom of the hole.

Oh yeah, nice RR by the way! Mine is R4 red too.

Tranny Fluid

My 69 RR is a 4 speed, I would like to change out the tranny fluid, whay kind would you recomend?
