How do i identify what 4 speed transmission i have and what year its from so i can order a rebuild kit from passon performance. Thanks

If it is from a 68 and up it will have the VIN pad on the passenger side of the main case. If it has a partial vin it will start of with the year. For example 8G123456. It can also have a full vin but that is mostly found in 69 such as RS23L9G123456.
You can also look for date codes on the castings and that can get you clost if it were to be before 68 and have no pad. Then you will need to count the input shaft spline to see if you have an 18 spline 440/hemi box or a regular 23 spline 4 speed. You need to measure the bearing reatainer and know that size for the front bearing.
66-69 B body have the long slip yoke tailshaft with a single shifter mount. 70-up B and E body have the long slip yoke tailshaft with a dual shifter mounts. A body trans have short tailshaft with a single shifter mount more toward the rear of the tailshft. 1964-65 A833 4 speeds are bolt on drive shaft style. You could also call Brewers performance they are very helpful with stuff.
Hope that sort of helps you out. Matt
