For the guys who have installed headers...I noticed that my transmission lines are right against the headers on the drivers side...what are you doing to eliminate the problem?

I know it wont help if your staying with your lines. Also dont know if your trying to stay as stock looking as possible either. But i see I may have the same problem your encountering now. So my solution is to run steel braided over to the frame rail and then down the side of the rail to the tranny cooler. Sorry no pictures. I have it all planned in my head.

Mine aren't an issue???
I have mine running what I believe is the stock location too....
Anyhow, I have mine coming from the trans, they bend towards the block and run right along the oil pan / block mounting surface area, one on top of the other. Then they split and one goes over towards the pass side on the radiator and the other bends slightly to line up with the other connection point at the radiator. The Line that goes to the passenger side has a 90 bent in it so it runs just in front of the lower pulley, and then another 90 to line it up with the radiator...

I bought stock lines from Mancini and I had to bend them a little as I bolt them to the oil pan bolts with holders and then fish them to the front. It was not to big a problem for me. Ron

there's a small factory oil line bracket that bolts to one of the starter bolts. i use this and some of the factory line clips to hold everything together.

When installing my headers, a little bend here and there for clearance was necessary. try for a inch or so away from the header.

Found a photo, factory 64 lines, look by the center link and you will see the bracket that holds the lines bolted to case near the starter. The 2 bends that bulge away from the oil pan(I have no idea why they are there) is what came closest to the tubes.Next time I'll make my own lines up and route them better. To me the factory has more bends than needed.Maybe to fit different engines ?

I use a separate cooler with the lines pointing towards the drivers side. The lines go to the inside of the chassis rail and run back past the starter and come in over the headers.

This is a better idea, keeps the lines away form the heat and allows for better cooling.

Here is a question for ya....If you hard plumb the lines to the frame what allows for the flexing that the lines will get when the engine and trans torques up? Could you use hose with barbed fittings from the trans to the cooler and back?

The first photo is a bit deceiving. This shot is a little better. Got a inch or more clearance. Those are the factory lines. You are right, hand made lines would be better.Run them strait along the oil pan rail
