New to the forum, but not to mopars. I tried a quick search but couldn't find an answer to my question. Can anyone tell me where the number is located on a roadrunner transmission, I believe it is a TF 727. I am not in front of it right now, but I'm trying to get someone back home to get a picture for me and they can't locate it.

Thank you sir! That is where I remembered it to be as well, but I wanted to be sure before I had them start lugging it around trying to locate the number. Thanks for the pictures as well, super helpful.

You really know these auto trans.. I wanted to thank you because using the info you put in here and the other page you set up, i found that my car doesn't have the 904 i thought it did, its the 727, now i wish i knew why the guy changed them, and if he used a stock converter, i cant find any numbers...yet... Welcome to the Forum elduderino!!

Ron, I hope so! lol I have been rebuilding them for 13 years now :D

I still have a lot to learn about the hydraulic engineering aspect, but in order to overhaul them, rebuild them, or diagnose them.. those specifics are just "wants" to know and not "needs" to know... really just satisfying a curiousity aspect more than anything.

Ill tell ya, If you weren't so far away, id be MORE then happy to pay you to put a new rebuild in mine! That and a shift kit.. I always was afraid of these automatics, never trusted them, but i found out over the years since im not that kid anymore, the automatics arent really junk, had something to do with burn outs over and over and..... and not at all transmissions. lol. :) Thanks.

Im in Pa. Appreciate the thought, I would like that shift kit in but if i don't slow down with things, ill be yelling for someone to throw me a bigger shovel for the hole im digging, lol.. Trans is in the car, so far it seems to be working right, so im going to forgo the scared part of shipping one, at least for now... But in all your bag of goodies, any real good diagrams, pictures, tech pages on setting your kick down cable would be a help, i have mine hooked up, all seems to be right but from time to time, i do wonder.. shifts great, whines some when you down shift, Thanks.

Got the numbers! thanks! I remember checking them years ago when I first purchase my Roadrunner. I just wanted to reconfirm and have some photos for record keeping. As I knew before, it's still numbers matching. Have a 383 in it with a TF727, bench seat, A-4 silver, two black race stripes. I'll have to post it up on in a new thread.
