Ok, durring my resto of my 68 Coronet with the 383, I have come across this piece and have no idea what it is. Any ideas?? Sorry it's sideways, anyway its a plastic ring in two pieces with a small channel running around the outside of it.
those are your clutch cross shaft pivot bushings, they fit around the end of the pivot ball, either on the frame side or engine side. the clutch cross shaft (bellcrank, torque tube, whatever) slides onto the outside of these. the groove is for the retainer clip
