Is there any way to adjust the trunk lid on a 68 charger from side to side? I am replacing both rear quarters but even with the original quarters on the car the trunk lid fit very close on the passengers side and wide on the drivers side. I don't see much of a way to move it left or right unless you tweak the hinges. I am sure after replacing both quarters there will be some adjustment needed.
Thanks

When you remove the latch does it still close in the same place ? Mite just be the latch pulling it to the side. I've seen this a couple times before on other cars.

Yes with or with out the latch it closes very true with 1/8th inch all the way down on the passengers side and almost 3/8 on the drivers side and again very true all the way down the crack. Rear quarters were both original to the car.

I used a washer behind the trunk arm and the shaft it slides onto. the washer pushes it over and will line up the trunk lid. unfortunatly u have remove the trunk to remove the arms safely, which opens up another whole can of worms, I would give it a quick firm shove in the direction you want it to go then check, alot, lighter pressure then more to achieve the gap change, don't push too hard and go past your mark. trunk lids are a bitch, I spent alot of time to line mine up. I would try the push method first, you can mark your bolts on your truck lid if u have to remove it but it wont be completely accurate because the bracket the bolts slide into are somewhat adjustable within the arm. good luck.

Shove it hard away from the tight side when it's open. It'll move.
Thats' how we do it.

Gap on the Coronet is on the passenger side. Consider it a characteristic. I've seen it on others.
