My trunk wouldn’t stay up due to worn torsion springs (even when moved to the tightest position) so I removed them and added some extra twist to both and re-installed but it still wasn’t enough to keep the lid fully up.
I searched the web for new replacements but I couldn’t find them for my ‘67 Coronet 500 so I came up with the idea of locking the two rods together near the ends since one rotates more than the other at the ends. I locked the two together when the lid was fully extended up and it seems to be working pretty well at least for now.
I do still want to buy new ones so if anyone knows where to get, please post or message me.
Thought I would post in case anyone else wants to try it.
