tti header flanges

Fitting 61HCA tti headers to a 6.4 crate motor on the engine stand. I am finding that the
flange holes are not lining up perfectly. I can get the forward bolts in but not
the rears and vice versa. I talked to tti and they were very helpful, suggesting I
ream the holes out a bit.

I haven't done headers since high school but can this be expected?
I'm ok with enlarging the holes a bit as long as the ports still line up of course.

Just wondering if anyone else has encountered this.

Well, that's not normal & I would have exactly the same concern as you. Yeah, no big deal to ream out some holes, but I would want to be sure the headers still lined up with the exhaust ports in the heads.

If they're coated headers I wouldn't be to happy about that.

Gotta admit I've never encountered that issue. The TTI's I have for my 440 fit perfectly, I guess TTI is still working things out on the new gen Hemi. This is surprising since they offer top notch stuff.... could be and isolated incident. Exactly how far off are the holes? 1/32, 1/16? If it's more than that you might want to see about returning them for another set...just sayin

They claim on their site, laser cut flanges. They claim on their site, CNC mandrel bent tubes. Those machines are capable of .0001" accuracy. For the price they are asking for their ****, you would think they could get the bolt spacing right! Send them back, you shouldn't have to ream holes, if their product was made correctly in the first place!!!

FYI, I asked TTI for info on an issue I discovered recently with my headers. Just info, nothing else. I had them less than a year. They replied by sending me new headers complete with hardware and gaskets, and a return package slip for my 'old' headers.

That's what I like to hear.
I may be getting new headers sooner than later as my 12+ year old Hookers are looking old and I just found a small leak on the drivers side. Everything else came from TTI, so it should be a fairly clean swap.

Update:

After talking to tti and a well-renowned gen3 swap shop, the recommendation was to drill out the
front top and bottom and the rear top and bottom flange holes.
Once drilled out, the passenger side fit fine while the driver's side, though tight, also fit.

I'm calling it good. I'm just a little surprised given tti's reputation.

All that being said, after talking to tti, I'm sure if I really wanted replacement headers they would have shipped them out to me.
