tuff wheel adapter

I am wanting to put a tuff wheel on my 68 gtx, but they adapter I got doesn't fit over the splines on the column, does anyone know what the correct one I need would be off of???the one I have know is off of a little red express truck...

i believe there are 2 different adapters,1 for the trucks and 1 for cars,you have to also look at the splines on your steering column and see if it has a couple splines missing,almost like a key and you line the adapter up to the splines missing,i believe 71-up cars had the splines missing for the can to fit,had a friend with a 70 charger and it did not have the splines missing to put the adapter can on,he thought of filing 2 splines down so the can would slide on.havent seen any 66-70 cars with the tuff wheel using the factory adapter.

I could be way off here but I don't think it would work because Tuff Wheels only came on 70 up style columns. Hopefully someone more knowledgeable will chime in.
