Any idea why someone would solder these 2 terminals together?

I'm not sure, but maybe check your wiring diagram. If they are for something like the emergency flashers, and one side wasn't getting power through the switch, you might solder the other side to it so both sides get power? That is a complete guess.

The car is from New York and that is the modification done at the Florida State Line that turns the left turn signal on permanently.

by the color ( white ) that's the brakes lights line. Could be a fix or a mod to be able to light on brakes still with hazzards or turning working, like earliers did.

turning lights are the tan and green ones but just to fronts. Rears are darker. Pink is emergency flasher source
