I replaced the cam part of the turn signal switch and noticed the brass nubs on the hard to find part of the switch are worn down. I'd like to salvage these, has anybody replaced the contacts or figured out a way to use them? Thought about solder but i can't imagine it lasting for long. I can get them to work typically when pulling the stalk back but would like them to be consistent. I did check to make sure the cam piece is as right of a fit as possible.

Thanks all!

69 Coronet Signal Switch

With the lack of replacement switches out there I'm surprised nobody has had this issue.
How about where to get a replacement switch (not the cam part, that's easy)?
I've seen them from time to time on ebay, anybody have experiences with these?

Would also consider a switch that could be retrofitted to it with relative ease if someone has done this in the past.

Thanks all!

I bought a pathetic excuse of a turn signal swith from Paddock with made in Argentina plastered all over it. Flimsy, poor quality and it didn't even work. Plus they didn't reimburse me for shipping their turd back to them...... 1st time and Last time I use them!!!

I ended up repairing my old one.......Replaced the brass connector for the red wire with a little similar part I found at Radio Shack. A little bigger than stock but it still fit/works.

That's what I was afraid of about the few that are out there & not looking to spend NOS money for a 4 door beater.

I'll have to check out Radio Shack, as long as it works consistently it's fine with me...nothing grinds my gears more than some a-hole not using their blinkers!

Thanks for the info!

No sweat..Good luck on finding a decent replacement if it ever comes to that point. I'd sure like to know as well if someone makes one that is worth a crap

paddock went out of buisness , so i guess you dont have to buy from them anymore LOL now we know why there gone

hahaha, "NO SOUP FOR YOU!!"
I did dig around and found that Herb's parts has them for around $70...does that look anything like the junk one you ended up with from the Paddock? Any experience with Herb's?

It's a little tough to tell from their pic on the website Cole... Looks a little more beefy. Also, the turning cam is yellow vs. the white that came on the one from Paddock. Could be a different MFG. Best bet would probably give em a ring and see where it is made.

I have ordered a few things from herb over the past couple years.. Good guy, but gets pretty busy and tied up sometimes around swap meet/car show season.

Good luck to ya if you end up going that route..

Hey guys,
Did some more digging and found out some more info on these switches.
To the best of my knowledge they're all made by Shee-Mar (shee-mar.com) in the USA whom then distributes them to several suppliers which i've listed below with the pricing I received.
The same switch is used for all 67-69 A & B bodies as well as the 69-71 Dodge pickups. This is only the part for cars w/o tilt, w/o cornering lights(?) and without hazard button on the column (don't think any of them??)

Shee-Mar part # SM 106- $90.51 plus $9.00 shipping to KC area- they definitely prefer to sell to wholesalers-maybe talk them into a site discount if anyone is interested??

Rock Auto (rockauto.com) (labeled as OE Pro Automotive brand part # SM 106- $76.79 plus shipping (can always find a 5% coupon code for them to help w/ shipping)
-Did not show up under Dart, Charger, Coronet---put in 69 Dodge D100 and the switch is listed.

Herb's Parts (herbsparts.com) part # 190080 $71.00 plus shipping

Old Car Parts Northwest (oldcarpartsnw.com) part SM 106 quoted $85.00 with shipping included to KC area-found on 12/09 forabodiesonly.com post through google.

These are all labeled as made in the USA parts so assuming its not the crap Argentinian one Propwash ended up with. You do have to use the existing connector with all of these.
Just wanted to put this out there and depending on who's shipping comes out the lowest I'll be ordering a couple soon if I manage to screw up the Radio Shack fix :)

If anybody else finds the same thing elsewhere or has more information on this please let me know, thought I'd post this to save somebody else the legwork! Have not talked to the people at Herb's but the Old Car Parts NW's Ray was a nice guy and I believe he's a one man show.

Thanks for all the great info Cole! Great info to reference down the road.

Thanks for the info as well on Year One Patrick

Thanks Patrick, I was so busy digging for the smaller distributors I overlooked Year One! I found for the 67-69 A & B's as being part FD47801 and lists for $159.00.
Looking at the picture I would put money on it being the exact unit the other suppliers are offering. I believe the later cars use a different switch, any idea if the cheaper one be modified to fit the earlier cars? I know in 70 they put the key on the column but assuming the difference is the hazard switch being column mounted and possibly the connection terminal?
