I just bought a Dana S60 and I guess I need a conversion u- joint for a U1598 Yoke and the stock driveshaft? Anyone know where I can find such a thing?

You need to start by identifying what ujoint you have in your stock driveshaft.

I'm curious about why you would install a Strange 60 without moving to 1350 joints at both ends of a new driveshaft. Is this a high power car/stick shift?

What is the size u joint for a U1598 Yoke?

And not real high HP, No.

Hope you have a 1330 or 7290 u-joint on your driveshaft? Those u-joints are essentially the same as a 1350 just cup size is different.

Ok I did some leg work. If you had an 8 1/4 rear.. I would speculate you have a 7260 small ujoint, if your driveshaft came out of that car.
So the next question is, did strange not let you know what ujoint that rear requires.

Yes, I have an 8 1/4 now. They did tell me but I didn't write it down and they are next to impossible to get a hold of.

Just get a driveshaft built. Now the problem. What engine and trans do you have now? Driveshaft is probably to long. You should say engine and trans combination have, no need to do things twice.

I agree, The S60 will need a shorter driveshaft.
I went with a Mark Williams 3-1/2" Chromoly driveshaft with the 1350 U-Joints and the727 trans yoke.
It adds up quick. Around $800 when I got mine, prices are almost $900 now!
Best thing is it no vibration!. With the old stock driveshaft, I would get a high speed vibration.

Looks like the Denny'd driveshaft version is $775.95?

I have a 400 bb with a 727 transmission. If anyone has done this before with the S60 could you let me know the shaft length. I'm in WI and the car is in storage right now so I can't check myself at the present time.
Thanks!

Strange makes a nice piece

Ok. Stange just confirmed to me it is a 1350 U joint.
So I'll have to shorten my driveshaft? If anyone happens to know the size I should need please let me know. For a 400 with a 727 transmission and the S60.
Thanks!!

Don't spend your money doing the driveshaft twice. Get a 1350 size yoke for the trans end and a whole new driveshaft-done. You should get the yoke, install it, take the proper measurements and then order the new driveshaft. You could order all of it from strange if you wanted to.
