Hi all,
I changed out my rear end on my 66 Coronet.
The yoke takes a larger u joint than what is on the drive shaft.
Do they make a u joint with two different sizes or do I have to change the yoke?
Thanks

Assuming you have the 8.75... I suspect you'll need the 7260 to 7290 conversion (7260 to 7290 Conversion U-Joint), which is what I needed sometime back, but have since changed everything.

But, do your homework... you might need the 1350 to 7260 (1350 to 7260 Conversion U-Joint) or the 1350 to 7290 (1350 to 7290 Conversion U-Joint).

The 1350 is "heavy duty" and the largest of the average bunch. The next by size is the 7290 with 2.562" yoke span and 1.125" bearing caps. And the "smallest" is the 7260 with 2.125" yoke span and 1.078" bearing caps. If you have/had a 318 with an 8.75, you very well likely have a 7260 if it's still stock.

BTW... the master of all things rear diff's is Cass Eslick from Dr. Diff. If you need help and need to pick something up, I highly recommend to look no further. A huge help to me.

HTH.

They make u-joints for every youke combination you can imagine - and relatively inexpensive. these guys stock everything and ship anywhere.

Or 1330 to either 7260 or 7290.

Thanks for all of the great advice.
