So,
I live in Iowa where the love to spray down a calcium salt brine chemical brew that vaporizes metal.
My 04 ram is rotting away in front of me eyes.
Told myself the next truck would be from the south.
What states do you all recommend, I know Colorado is known to be decent but I was leaning towards Kansas, Oklahoma,Arkansaw, Texas gotta watch for the flood ones.
Would Missouri and Kansas be salt nuts like the Iowa DOT.
Anyone have any input good or bad ?
Thanks

Only an 04? You should see my 96 2500 4x4 Ram in Mich. It is rusting off of the frame also. I have had this truck over 20 years so it owes me nothing though.

I have a 2001 Ram 1500 with over 200K on it. Original western Oregon truck with 0 rust. No salt used here but it rains a little causing some green mold in the nooks and crannies but a little clorox in a spray bottle takes care of that, then let Mother Nature give it a bath.

I've had good luck with vehicles from Montana. My brother lives in Billings and has found rust free stuff for me when needed. Someone told me they use coal dust on the roads in the winter. If it's true, I can see why it helps keep the rust at bay some since coal dust has oil in it.
Seems like they have the exact opposite issues from what we in Wisconsin have. We have good drive trains here because the body rusted out. They have used up drive trains with good bodies. Well maybe not good bodies but rust free for the most part.

Anyplace dry, no snow, no salt would be were id look. I guess the entire south west would be prime location. I was just behind a Ram pickup and it didn't appear that old and was in not bad shape until i saw the bottom of the tailgate was rotted out. I have to wonder what kind of metal and prep they use when they build these things, and its just not Mopars but most all of the brands

.............I guess the entire south west would be prime location............
Probably your best bet.^^^^

.........My 04 ram is rotting away in front of me eyes............
My '05 Ram has the "Rosie Rotten Box" disease as well. On a quiet night you can hear it oxidizing into oblivion. I know these Rams are notorious for the rusting out around here.
Of course mines outside in the elements 24/7/365 days a year.
As the saying goes " nothings forever".

They spray that here in Indiana too. I've been getting under my trucks with a Wagner electric spray gun and just soak the crap out of them with used motor oil every fall. It seems to help out.

I have a 99 ram 1500 4x4 with absolutely zero rust , 167,000 and running strong but I'm in Colorado lol, come to think of it , not one of my cars have rust .....

Vermont used to be bad but they mostly use sand now. Try getting the underside treated with Waxoil coating. Never dries so wont flake off over time.
