Greetings everyone,

I fully expect to be told I'm crazy because all I can find online for sale are 7290 series U-Joints with inside C clips for my 67 Coronet R/T. However, I was just under the car two days ago and the U-Joints on the car have outside snap rings on both the transmission and differential yokes. Does anyone make 7290 series U-Joints with outside snap rings? Is it possible to have outside snap rings and inside C-clips? I looked inside the U-Joint to see if I could see a C-clip but did not. However, I could have missed them visually. There are definitely snap rings on the outside, though. The ones in the car checked out fine (no play) and are non-greaseable, but I'd like to locate a source to buy them in the future if needed.

Is it possible my completely stock and original driveline might have something other than a 7290 U-Joint? They ones on the car are definitely not the smaller 7260 version.

In case it helps, I have a 67 R/T with a 440, 727 TF, and an 8 3/4 rear with 742 case.

Thanks in advance for your help! You guys are always offer the best advice!

Pretty much any drive line/driveshaft service/build location can get them for you.Don't waste your time at Pep Boy's etc.

It's most likely a 1330 u-joint. 3.625" with 1,0625 cups. I have them on my 66 Satellite.

It has outside snap rings. I bought a pair at NAPA, they have two grades cheap $12 or about upgrade $20 .

And if worse comes to worse, look at the LONG lists of u-joint dimensions, clip locations, cup diameter, etc. and make your own. Before they sold Mopar big/little adapter u-joints I made mine by swapping cups North-South vs. East-West on the new u-joint from a '57 Olds or '57 Pontiac...can't remember which. Somebody probably reproduces exactly what you need these days...keep looking.

Looking at the 1330 style u-joints, I think that must be what I have. As always, the people on this site are awesome!

Like the other guys are telling you, yes. I used a 67 8 3/4" rear on my 64, and the yoke was for 1330 u-joint. I wound up using a combo 7290/1330 u-joint at the rear. For whatever reason, seems most of the 67s were fitted with 1330 yokes.
Like coloradodave was trying to point out, go to any driveshaft websites, and they will show info, to tell the differences.
