Hey guys, I'm working on the electrical on the car and don't know what this connector would be for. Located just to the upper left of the brake booster on the firewall as looking in from the front of the car. Any ideas?

Yep, definitely the tach wire. Off to bed I go with another mopar mystery solved.

Thank you very much guys. One more 'what the hell is this wire for' mystery on my car solved.

Factory Tac "harness" (not sure whay they call it a harness...just a single wire)

So is the wire that connects to this part of the main engine wire harness?

Yes, factory tach. Not too many had those.

No, it is a single wire that connects to the back of the tach in your gauge cluster.......to connect to the tack you need to buy the under hood tac "harness" (again don't know why they call it a harness...it is just a single wire) that connects from the wire in your photo to the engine coil.

So is the wire that connects to this part of the main engine wire harness?

The cheaper ones are the engine side of the harness and the more expensive ones are the dash side of the harnesses, I do believe. I think the pics are just generic pics.

That's probably right. I guess you would have to order Part Number:L38448 1968 big block B-body models except Hemi to get the correct engine tach harness for a 70 383 RR since 70 big block isn't listed. I would think the sb wire would be too short.

you hook that wire to neg side coil and hopefully your tac will take off

If you can get your hands on the right connectors/plugs...and you don't really care about "originality" ..you can make your own really cheap......again it i just a single wire

That's what I was thinking. Now to source some connectors- any ideas guys for the right connectors?
