Aright guys, on my recently acquired 73 charger 318, there's a hole in the back of the passenger side exhaust manifold that has a metal line that bolts up to it, runs up into some kind of valve, not the egr, then into a rubber hose, and the previous owner cut it off short and plugged it. None of the other cars I got had this. All of the other manifolds are missing the hole so I have no idea what it is. Anyone?

Not really. Its a steel line bolted to the manifold, but then it runs into some sort of valve and then into a rubber hose, i think 3/4" and the previous owner cut it off there and plugged it.

It might be the California Air injection, do you have any pictures of what they look like or where they run to?

Not finding much for small block air injection systems in ’73, this image appears to be late eighties small block and varies slightly from your description. May want to verify casting numbers/dates on the manifolds and block to determine engine or manifold model years. If the driver’s side dos not have the same casting/fitting, one of them has been replaced, may be wrong application somewhere. The FSM should have details on the Air Injection system for the year of the motor. Air pumps started in ’72 on big blocks for California production only. Not sure of the specifics for small blocks. Would be looking for a non-air injection manifold however, the internal pluming is restrictive if not running an air pump.

This might help

There's no air pump on it unless I'm just completely blind lol. It does have a vacuum amplifier on it as well if that helps ID it as a California model or anything.
