Upper ball joint socket

I have a 1972 charger. Small block car. I'm going to replace upper ball joints and I am going to buy the socket to remove. Can someone tell me what size to order??? I've seen two different sizes not sure. I measured the replacement and it's approx 2". Thank you and seeya at Carlisle

Just measured mine and its 1-7/8" across from flat to flat

Why are you replacing the upper ball joints ?

Advance Auto will loan you a front end kit with 2 BJ sockets in it. You have to pay for the kit but, upon return to them you will get a full refund. I recall you get 30 days to use the tools. You don't even have to purchase the parts from them. Good deal.
