I bought a new upper bezel to replace the one on my 4 speed shifter in my 70 Charger. Problem is, I don't know how to get the old one off. I don't see any screws, set screws, pins or anything. Does anyone know how to remove the upper bezel from the shifter arm?

Thanks!

If you are talking about the lens, then it just pries out with a small flat screwdriver. The bezel that the lens sits in is held onto the lever by two crimped over tabs. These are visible once the lens is removed. Be careful with the lens and the tabs - both are easily damaged if you charge at it like a bull.

Thanks. I want to save the lens and re-use it. I just want to get the bezel off, then hopefully pry out the lens without damaging it. I have a new upper bezel to put on, so if I damage the old one its not a big deal.

Do you think it would work to tap underneath of the upper bezel with a punch to pry it off?

No, you need to carefully bend the tabs underneath the lens.

No problem. :hello2:
