V=1964
H=Hemi
426=cubic inches
HC=High Compression
5-16 Built May 16th
6 6th engine built that day

That's a pretty early Race Hemi. HC = 12.5 compression. Betcha there would be a bunch of S/S guys interested in that one. Maybe trade a proper Street Hemi for it for the 'Cuda.

They were all made about the same time. They probably made the 64 engines for about 90 days and they built the 1964 cars for 45 days. They had to get them out quick for summer racing. S/S guys can't really use it but restoration guys would. Very desirable block, especially if in good condition. But being in Copenhagen makes it a little difficult to swap.

That looks like a good home for it. I once had a NOS 64 block that I got from Bill Golden. I sold it to Dave Wren who had a beautiful virgin (really virgin) 64 Dodge. People always ask me if I regret selling all my Street Hemi's and Race Hemi's but I didn't have a place to park all those. But I do regret ever selling a part because now most all of them are irreplaceable.

I would love to have it for this, currently has a ‘68 block.

Does that really matter in a car that was raced, and made the scene? I know the OEM resto guys stress about that stuff. Same guys that will give a pass to 70% Asian sheet metal from a few years ago.

Beautiful car BTW!
