just looking for some thoughts from you guys on these V gate shifters.

as some of you know with my car i like unusual and to be different, i hate and cant stand it if my car was like every other car, probably why i hate chebbies so much.

and i was thinking these shifters are cool as hell and i had never heard of them before until recently, will they fit on a 68 charger with a833 4 speed OD does the floor hump have to be modified?
what about console?

what are they like? do they shift well?
as i am not really impressed with the hurst pistol grip always going into 3rd instead of 1st and sloppy as hell even with a rebuilt shifter and rods.

just looking for opinions and experience.

In good repair they are great. You'd have to swap stuff around for an overdrive 833. Yes, you'd be modding the console and the floor. I have run several on the street, even 20 years ago got lots of wth statements. You cannot screw up a shift unless you are really really trying.

I never ran one but remember them well. There is a link you pull up on to get into first then it takes care of itself. Another shifter that is very popular is a Long.

I used to run a regular Hurst and could make my RR and a buddy's Dart sound like an automatic. Proper clutch adjustment was a huge factor toward success as well as dialing in the shifter. And don't forget practice.
