Does anyone recall an aftermarket company offering the black stripe for the 69 Road Runner & GTX? There are promotional shots of Plymouth showing a V6X stripe on their cars but when it came time to making it a production item it was pulled. However, over the years I've seen many very worn and tired cars wearing this stripe. Did Chrysler offer this over the counter?

It was a factory option,It was not a decal ,but a painted stripe, there is a variation in stripe width apparently depending on production plant.dave at performance car graphics would be the best one to talk to about that.Tell him Rick from National Moparts sent you,and ask him how his size 14 shoes are?lol

Rick, we do not seem to be able to find any factory documents stating V6X was available....yet cars seem to have it. That's why there is confusion. V6X does not show up on fender tags, broadcast sheets, or other order documents.

Hi Rick. There was a black stripe. It was the Black painted stripe, V7X. V6_ was the reflective tape stripe.

I know it's been proven over an over???
But , (oh no) I quite clearly remember at least 2 cars in junkyards up here in the NE in 2 different states wearing decals. Many moons ago (90's) but one was R4? in southern Pa., and other was B5 in upstate NY.
They were definitely decal and not paint, seemed too far apart to be a local dealer add on. Both were non AG hoods, remember Cuz that's what I was after. Both yards long since closed, so ???
