Value of 741 case 3:23 gears (open)

I have two 741 case 3:23 open third members I’m going to list on Craigslist here in central Florida, both are in excellent condition. What’s a fair asking price (each).
They are the case and gears. Thanks

I just sold one with the original power lock starting to go bad. The gears and bearings were perfect though, so would be comparable I believe. I got $200. for mine on FABO and had it sold in 2 days.

Ive never heard of anyone breaking one, but someone told me years ago (McCandless) that you couldn't get gears for a 741. I didn't know if I should believe that or not, but everyone seems to only want the 742 case or the 489.

Yours was a SureGrip though, and I could certainly see some value in that, especially given that I would still call that setup tough as old rusty nails, if you could use it as is, it would easily be worth a couple hundred busks to someone.

I sold a 741 with 3.23 open gears yesterday for $150.00. Both of us were happy since he needed it and I got rid of it.

Mine was a suregrip, but it needed to be replaced. So kind of the same scenario as yours being a open center. Both chunks would need a $400 powerloc to make it useful in a musclecar imo. Seems like a-body guys are the only ones wanting 741's.
