Anybody have pictures of the correct valve cover decals for the 318 Poly in my '66 Coronet? Wouldn't mind making the old girl look more original.

Thanks!

check out Ebay item 391214976886 they have them for sale right now

Do we know these are actually correct?

I've never seen a car poly with decals, and I've owned several, mostly unmolested.

I've seen "210 HP" and "Power Giant" on truck poly motors, though.

I saw a '66 Belvedere "survivor" car at last weekends car show in Toronto. Same red colour engine block as mine, but valve covers were silver/grey and the decals looked like the real deal.

Those in post #2 look like copies of the Max Wedge "Super Stock" style 426 decals.

I'm fairly certain those are fantasy.

A photo of that would have been nice. But agree with others, I don't think they were stock. I know my '66 Belvedere II didn't come with them...But I did add them! They needed to be there. Lol! Also crinkle painted the valve covers (how they should have been done). I have yet to have someone question them. But I had had someone accuse me of 'mis-labelling a 'big' block'. Ha-ha! Ford guys...

Those decals look like the ones I saw on the Belvedere. Took a pic on my cell, but can't figure out how to transfer it to my computer....guess I'll have to find some 12 year old kid to help me.

I wish I had a dollar for every time a gm guy told me (with authority, I might add) that my poly 318 was a big block (usually followed by...and that's why you beat me).

...and I ask $2 for every time someone said "that's not a 318, it's a 440, it says so right on your fender" (while pointing to the "Coronet 440" emblem). (...and that was almost always followed by "...right after it says comet, er uh cornet, er uh coroner?...")

We had several poly-motored cars as kids, for beaters. They were all original.....and I don't recall seeing anything but dirt and oil/grease.

We had one 64 Dodge that was gray with a black top. My buddy had a 69 Camaro that looked all cool, but he'd just blown up his engine, and had dumped a 350-2bbl in for the time being. He was shooting his mouth off about how slow my old 318 was. I bet him a 12 pack that I would whip his *** with the old "gray-goose". We ran down Van Dyke about a 1/2 mile, form a low roll[about 15-20mph]. The old girl kicked some Camaro ***. He was teased by all the guys for quite a while.

or ya could go for the "Semi-Hemi" decals someone was selling on our forum a while back as there is a fair logistical comparison between the two motors. I'm in the process of a rebuild of my poly; lot's of money but should be pert-near a 330HP motor. I know this is wimpy HP to some big-block folks but it's enough for me at my age...
