I want to replace my valve seals in my ‘78 360. Getting a blue smoke puff at startup, initial acceleration, and on initial deceleration (only lasts a second- no smoke at cruise). Planning on buying a cheap overhead valve compressor tool. What is the min. air pressure needed in the cylinder to keep the valves up? Valve seal brand recommendations?
Thanks
Sonny

what I do is just remove all the push rods and then insert air into the cylinder , it keeps both valves closed
I would get seal pro seals , most probably the guides are worn and it might help a bit
good luck

Air is the best if you can or you can use clean nylon rope to stuff cylinder
so valve can not drop
