I ordered multiple rubber kits for my 68 Plymouth Satellite (hardtop base) and everything has fit pretty well. I've done the vent window seal before on an older chevy truck. When I did the vent window (triangle shaped) seal, I drilled out the two rivets and used vaseline to get it slide how I wanted. I got all 3 corners seated and the rivets reinstalled. I noticed some gap at the top of the vent window where it pivots to open/close. Try as a could....I just couldn't get that gap to disappear and can feel the breeze through it while driving. I got this from classic industries (PN MB 1288) and wonder if anyone has had the same issue. Would another brand or part number work better?? Thanks in advance for any guidance.

I'd say that your vent glass, and it's holder base, is sitting too low. Just too much pivot shaft showing to be in the correct place.

When I last messed with it, I couldn’t raise the glass bc the pin going through the bottom of the pivot was bottoming out. Maybe I can ‘massage’ it though.
Anyone else have any ideas? I’m just curious if the rubber could be wrong before I go ‘massaging’ things.

Looking though my assembly pics for a solution... but can't remember what exactly held the pivot UP. There's a pin that limits rotation and keeps the assembly from coming up though.

The rubber seal doesn't appear to be any different than the ones I used on mine.

Did you have the vent glass out of the lower holder? If so, when you replaced it did you use setting tape or just put it back in bare with some sealant? Lack of the setting tape would be enough for the glass to be lower and the frame and not seal that gap.

I did pull the vent glass (with metal surround) from the window frame (but not the glass from the metal surround/pivot). I really just put it back the way it was. I’m going to do the other side next. I’ll pay more attention to how high the glass sits. Maybe I could cut a small spacer to hold the glass up in place? When I figure it out, I’ll go back to the first side and fix it. Thanks.
